The TI Defence and Security Team is committed to addressing defence and security corruption in a constructive and effective way.

TI-DSP prides itself on achieving practical results. Since 2004, we have worked closely with governments, armed forces, the defence industry, and other civil society organizations. We catalyse defence and security anti-corruption reform in governments, campaign for integrity in arms transfers, develop tools for key actors to tackle defence corruption, and put defence corruption on policy-makers’ agendas. Our work is targeted towards building integrity at all levels of the defence and security sector.

Why it matters

Defence and security establishments have historically been one of the least open government organisations to public or intra-governmental scrutiny. The secrecy that veils some defence activities often extends far beyond what is justified. Read more.

Defence Industry

A transparent, no-bribery business environment is in the best interest of defence companies. Particularly since 2005, the defence industry has become far more willing to engage in counter-corruption reform, and TI-DSP has worked closely with companies to accelerate that process. Read more.

Education & Training

Countering corruption in the defence sector requires a high level of political commitment, and the active engagement of the defence leadership in initiating change. TI DSP, with NATO, has developed a training course for senior officers and defence officials worldwide. Read more.
