Tools & Resources to Counter Corruption
Countering corruption is a multi-faceted process with many steps, layers, and potential pitfalls, particularly in defence and security establishments. Transparency International's Defence and Security Programme (TI DSP) has developed tools to navigate this process and build collaboration between interested parties.
TI DSP believes in actively engaging leadership to counter corruption and build integrity, and strengthening cooperation between interested individuals within defence and security ministries, and with civil society—Leadership Workshops and Days enable this, and we can help organise and facilitate these events.
We can provide guidance on developing robust Anti-Corruption Plans, a necessity to build long-term integrity in defence establishments. Counter-corruption Training Courses, especially for mid to senior level personnel, are a powerful way to build up a cadre of knowledgeable professionals in the defence establishment with the same counter-corruption mindset. Defence Integrity Pacts are a practical mechanism to counter corruption specifically in procurement. Developing good Codes of Conduct are an essential element in building up a common ethos and set of good practices that staff and officers are all required to follow.
