Transparency International's Defence and Security Programme (TI DSP) works closely with governments to help them build integrity and raise standards in their defence and security establishments. We have worked with more than 100 officials from countries around the world.

We have been surprised and pleased by how many members of governments and armed forces around the world have expressed interest in following up practical ways of strengthening measures to counteract bribery and corruption.

The integrity self-assessment process and our typology of corruption risks can help governments diagnose corruption in their defence and security establishments. We also work actively with governments through our training courses, leadership workshops and days, defence integrity pacts, and by helping them develop anti-corruption plans, strong codes of conduct and standards, and build integrity in their procurement process.
